India is at one crucial point. It has to now decide its path towards future. And this choice has two important elements.

1. Path of System Vs Recklessness

2. Path of Progressiveness Vs Regressiveness

When there is choice of System Vs Recklessness, we need to ask ourself few questions. Most of us talk big about system, law, order, discipline and so on. But in reality we live a whimsical reckless life. We do not honor system and laws. We wish to live as we wish. People say and do things with least concern for society and nation. End result is chaotic nation which is breeding ground for corruption, crimes and disharmony that we see around today. But if we are loyal to nation, we must bow to nation's welfare. We must then get rid of our selfish interest. We must imbibe discipline, honor laws and order. We must understand that the path of recklessness is damaging for nation and damaged nation is bad for all. We must check ourself and others from going on path of recklessness. Compliance with system is in everyone's interest. System must be followed in spirit, speech and deeds.

Nation must also decide. It wish to progress towards a modern developed nation or go regressive. We must develop scientific temperaments. For this it is important to eliminate superstition, fake godmans and desire to be successful through some magical or astrological shortcuts. We must get rid of herd mentality. We must develop ability to think logically and question. We must accept truth based on facts. Good education can play a big role in this and nation must invest heavily in education. Education must promote scientific temperament in students. This can be done by media as well. They too have responsibility of developing scientific and wise temperament in society but many of them do things on contrary. They show programs based on astrology and other superstitions. It is good to be religious but that does not mean that one has to give up scientific temperament to become religious. God and Science are compatible. Religious conservative approach is against both Science and God. Same is the case with language. Every language must be honored and developed but India must use all energy to develop quality english in each and every citizen. We must not forget that we have to move towards a future of Modern India which is developed in all aspects.

India must decide its path towards future :

We must deserve to be No 1 in the world before we desire.

India against terrorism

India has suffered a lot due to terrorism. And that too when India has always stood for humanity.

Our commitment to universal brotherhood and humanity should not be taken as sign of weakness. India must get committed to Zero Tolerance against terrorism. This has to be forceful and relentless action. Nation must remain on constant alert. We must prepare at all possible levels to make India a safe and secure place. Some of these are:

1.  Efficient Intelligence and surveillance to have accurate and timely information.

2.  Strengthen anti terrorism force to tackle such elements.

3.  Hand over border areas to defense services and use technology to stop infiltration

4.  Fool proof checking at entry points of nation (air / land / sea)

5.  Social security cards to every citizen to keep vigil on suspected elements

6.  Check corruption to avoid slips in security

7.  Improve education, skills and jobs to reduce poverty

8.   Eliminate communal, regional or any other social divide

9.   Eliminate injustice and discrimination from society

10.  Train people for quick and sound response to any such activity

Are we serious about change

Everyone is so concerned about high crime rate like rape. But unfortunately the reaction is always knee jerk. Debates on TV, demonstrations or at the most some quick punishments. But what change this brings about?

It was discussed earlier too. Mere punishment will not stop rapes.

It is not about which political party is in power. It is not about debates on TV. It is not about demonstrations. Then?

It is about - Are we serious?????

As society and as nation - Are we serious to bring about a change?

People can blame government and government can blame society. But this is not going to help. There is no point blaming each other.

When it comes to solving national problems like crimes corruption, communalism, terrorism, poverty, addictions etc, we act and behave in a very immature and short sighted manner. Few debates, few knee jerk reactions and in few days it is status quo.

So the question is - Are we serious about our nation?

Solving national problems requires well thought after planning and full hearted execution till result is achieved. It must involve government, policy makers, investigative agencies, judiciary, media, NGOs, educational institutes and general public. Fight is at many levels. And if we want any success, we all need to contribute. Only collective effort will see us through. And that too after sustained fight in which constant appraisal and reappraisal will be required.

But this requires sincere and committed efforts and for that we need to be serious.

So the question is - Are we serious about our nation? Or we just wish to blame each other.

Sound of unity and strength

Terrorist attack again.....

India has seen a number of terrorist attacks. The response of Indian police, Indian Defense Services, Indian establishment and People of India has always remained commendable. Very mature, patient, tolerant and united. Despite bad attacks on India, we have responded unitedly and with responsible position of strength. Let no one take this as sign of weakness or lack of ability.

India has always honored humanity and human values. This is the reason we do not take overtly aggressive posture. We make efforts to uplift peace and try to resolve disputes through discussion. This is something world must note. But at the same we must make necessary sound of unity and strength.

We value humanity and we make all sacrifices for sake of it. Not many countries in this world can take such pride. India has always shown this world the sacred path of peace, love and humanity. Our commitment to humanity is our strength. And we will show that those who follow path of humanity are real strong people. Killing innocent people and attacking to disrupt peace is act of cowards. India will not allow such cowards derail peace and progress of innocent people. India will make a strong response.

India will for sure ultimately win war against evil and terrorism. India will win it for people of India and for entire humanity. We need to immediately take steps:
- Remain united and speak as one
- Develop vigilance
- Upgrade security
- Upgrade technology
- Social security card for all citizens
- Eliminate corruption as it causes weak spots
- Develop system and protocol for swift action by both security and people
- People must learn disaster management so that there is no panic

India is and will remain a land of peace, love and humanity. But this has to its core courage and chivalry. Time has come to rise and defeat evil.

Good and Bad are common

We are one nation and are we not proud ??

Which other country has such diversity - be it geographical, cultural, languages, religion and such richness of history, such wonderful people.

Yes indeed we are proud of our beloved India.

We got our independence about seven decades ago. If one considers what were we, in what shape - we have done reasonably well. We today stand one of the most promising nation in the world. We also have problems, big problems - corruption, communalism, regionalism, poverty, crimes, lack of development and others.

We could have done better, much better. And we could have done worse too. So we must learn lessons and move ahead with strength and speed..

Our good and bad are common. We need not fight or have differences on party lines. Nation has seen some good and some bad under governance of all political parties. So we have seen some good work under Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, Shastri Ji, Smt Indira Gandhi, Shri Rajiv Gandhi, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and now under Shri Narendra Modi. Nation has progressed and going ahead. We survived recession and are now No 3 economy in the world. We have strong and dedicated defense services, we are proud of our scientists, our artists and above all common men and women who are working hard day and night . So the nation has seen some good under congress BJP and other parties.

And similarly problems are also common. We have seen corruption, crimes, communalism under governance of all political parties.

So this tells us one thing. We should not fight among each other or play blame game. If we love our nation, we should not spread negativity. We should not blame others for the problems. It is necessary for all political parties to stop creating negativity by blaming or using bad language. We can not afford to have conflicts on the basis of political loyalty. People of India are one and must remain one.

Let every political party work for nation and improve the system. We all must unite our efforts to create a better nation - corruption crime and division free nation. Our focus should be on how to make better system. Better constitution, better institutions, better infrastructure, better economy and better human development.

Let us create an atmosphere of positivity, of change, of growth. This is possible only through unity and brotherhood, not through negativity or enmity. Defeat others by being more humble, more honest and by doing better work.

Vision for future

India is at crucial juncture. This is not the time to maintain status quo and it can not be.

The kind of conflict and frustration nation is witnessing on issues of modern vs conservative, corruption and black money, crime against women, poverty and lack of jobs, lack of development and basic amenities and above all lack of protocols and system.

India needs vision for future. A vision for Modern Glorified India.

People of India voted for new government in 2014 with big hope. Hope to build a modern, developed, successful and dynamic India. If this government works and delivers, it will be good for nation and people. But if it does not, it will be big disaster and a huge setback to nation and people's mindset.

Nation can not maintain status quo. Either it will move ahead or will face major problems. Reasons are both external and internal. Today world is moving ahead with fast speed. There is already huge gap in development between modern world and India. Within India too there is increasing discrepancy between people. It is bad for a nation to have such big social. educational and financial discrepancies. This can cause high levels of frustration and unrest.

We must plan well to create India of 22nd century, a true world leader of humanity.

There is need of :

- Modern India. We must promote modern and scientific mindset, English language, equality of gender, freedom of speech and expression and freedom to live. No one should be doing moral policing and there should not be any hyper reaction like kiss day.

- Organized India. we must promote and implement protocols and system for everything. Do's and don'ts for everything and everyone from government to common man must be well established. It should not be left to individuals choice. A chaotic nation can never rise high.

- System driven India. No nation can develop without strong system. And institutions are core of system. We must strengthen institutions like Judiciary, Bureaucracy, Media, Investigative agencies like CBI and Lokpal, Police, Financial institutions, Social institutions and so on.

- Fair and Corruption Free India. Nothing will change till we eliminate corruption. Nation must promote fair conditions. Those honest and working hard must get due recognition and there should be strict system against black money and corruption. This should cover both out of nation black money accounts and corruption within nation. Read corruption can be eliminated.

- Developed India. The development must be uniform. Basic amenities must be affordable and available to everyone. Before thinking about smart cities we must make our existing cities, towns and villages livable. 

- Clean India. The voice for clean India is welcome. But it must be well directed and implemented. Read clean India a big deal?

- People's Voice - People's Federations must be developed to streamline people's voice and its coordination with government for better governance and administration.  


Time is precious. We must not lose any time further. We must get united and decide a clear cut path for modern glorified India. We have a choice, we wish to be progressive or regressive?

Work sincerely to eliminate poverty

Recent report says world's one third of extreme poor are in India. This is those who are under 1.25 $ per day. And if one adds those who are under 2$ then that covers about 68% of population of India.

This is shameful and big concern.

Unfortunate and sad that this has been made such a huge task. Why it is so difficult to uplift India out of poverty.

What is nation doing about this? What is lacking? Will  Skill or Intention. May be all three. Otherwise why after decades people continue to remain poor and suffer.

Can we eliminate poverty?

Yes if we plan well, make sound policies and implement them effectively then we can eliminate poverty in five years. How?

1. Education - Poverty can not be eliminated as long as illiteracy plagues nation. There must be immediate nationwide literacy program to make nation 100% literate.

2. Health - How can nation eliminate poverty if its people are malnourished and in poor health. To work hard it is crucial to have reasonable level of physical and mental strength. 

3. Skill training - Vocational training and special skills keeping in mind practical utility and developing world.

4. Jobs - Service industry must be expanded and must range from locality based to wider utility.

5. Production - Local industry, cottage industry and small scale industry must be promoted to help people become self reliant. Big industries are necessary but not for every product.

6. Tax reforms - These must support such small scale service and production based work.

7. Insurance - Easy and cheap insurance to protect people from sudden heavy expenses like from accidents, sickness, natural calamity etc.

8. Saving and Expenditure - Individual, family and community based saving and expenditure must be promoted for effective money management.

9. Investment - People can make small investments of not only money but also of time, knowledge, labor or other resources.

10. Reduce Reuse Recycle - This environment principle can be well utilized in promoting effective money management.

Think before celebrating Nobel

Congratulations on winning Nobel Prize. It is good to see someone fighting so hard for the cause and making society a better place.

But wait before celebrating.......

What is the issue? Child labor ! and add children kidnapped, molested and die in large number.

Is it a matter of pride or shame? Why do we allow such cruel conditions in our country? Why it is required to raise huge struggle to achieve this?

We are a free nation indeed. Where is our system, why can't we have proper system to stop such negative conditions like child labor? Can we not have effective laws and regulation with effective implementation to avoid such things in first place?

We should be winning Nobel in Physics Chemistry Medicine and Literature. If we keep winning Nobel in Peace - it is a matter of great concern. It shows we are not doing enough for society. We are land of great civilization, of great religions, of Mahatma Gandhi. Peace, equality, freedom and human rights should be norm for us. We are supposed to teach the world.

When will we 'rediscover' our self ?

Nation must learn assertiveness

At times nation behaves like an individual.

People bear suffering for a long time and then show outburst in the form of agitation. They do not show the skill of assertiveness. This was taught so well by Mahatma Gandhi.

People must identify goals. Set higher goals at locality level, city or village level, district level, state level and national level. Then they must collectively demand work from respective level administrators and governments. But this should be peaceful and consistent with law. This will stimulate the development in a time bound goal directed manner. This is governance by demand.

Such a system will help nation building in many ways:

- Higher standards of development
- Time bound development
- People's active participation
- Reduction in frustration level in society

Nation must learn to think and act in a mature manner. Are caretakers especially media listening ???

Block porn and other bad websites

Is it required to block?

Yes, because the damaging effect is huge. Not many know how much it affects and distorts subconscious mind and personality.

Is it possible to block ? Who should block?

This issue can be easily managed.  Some nations are doing this. Why can't we have laws and action to this effect. If it is not possible for government then give this power to people. On internet provide a website on which people can report a porn website. People wishing to report a website only need to copy paste website address on this. If a particular website reaches a minimum threshold of reporting then that website must get blocked. Fifteen crore plus internet users can easily block four crore websites within a month.

It is time to regulate internet and people must be involved in this.

History will judge India

India is yet to born...

Every year we salute our flag but do we at all understand and honor our own flag ?

Three colors of India represents wisdom peace and prosperity. Freedom fighters were right in setting basic principles for the nation. But what are we doing to these core values of nation?

Problems are many and huge. Unfortunately India is discussing non issues and not discussing issues. Destiny of people of India and infact destiny of world depends on how India conducts itself.

Internationally
India is natural world leader in terms of humanity. India is the country which can and must guide world towards peace and cooperation. The soul of India is based on wisdom and peace. These are the core elements of humanity and world today is in suffering due to lack of these. India must avoid confusion and must always stand by humanity principles. For this even if India is required to lose some selfish interest, it should not hesitate. India must play its world role based on humanity principles to steer world towards wisdom peace and prosperity.

Nationally
How unfortunate to see people of India in conflict and chaos over non issues of religion, caste, language. Can a nation grow well and people live a happy life if the goals and priorities are not clear. What is our vision of nation. What kind of nation we wish to have 20 years or 50 years later. It is not difficult to agree atleast on this.

India that should be:
- Peaceful
- United
- Scientific
- Prosperous and developed

If the Goal of Nation is so undisputed, why should the path be chaotic ? It comes down to same three colors - wisdom peace and prosperity. We are one nation. Why can't we conduct as one nation, why can't we conduct ourself with wisdom and sensible purpose.

Take for example issue of language. We all know English is necessary if we are serious towards long term development and India's position in the world. True that those who are not well aware of English should not suffer. Why we can not make efforts to help every citizen of India in learning good English. We must support and develop all Indian languages but must always keep in mind that future of India is through English. There should be no conflict on this. Support people in learning higher standards of both mother tongue and English and let nation grow with good pace.

Second issue is religion. Should this be as issue for nation ? What a shame ! Religion is every persons private matter. It should be practiced within home and religious places. Out of these we should be only Indians. There should be no mention of religion in public. We are one nation and one people. No nation can develop without unity.

It would be a huge damage and loss if we remain divided on the basis of region, religion, caste or language. World is growing very fast. We already have too many problems. We can not afford to waste any time or energy on such issues.

Let the three colors be understood well. Even the order is significant. Wisdom will lead to peace and peace will lead to prosperity.

Wisdom - People of India must use brain and promote sensible rational logical thinking. Common sense must prevail. In addition we must grow intellectually. Promote scientific attitude. Spiritual development too must promote rational and intellectual attitude. We must refrain from rigid and illogical debates. Let nation develop collective wisdom.

Peace - No need to describe. We must shed all differences and promote peace and unity. Do not let any issue create any rift. Always keep national interest higher that self. We are one nation one people. Diversity is only meant to be an asset.

Prosperity - With wisdom and peace we will be well on our path to prosperity. And this is not merely money. It should be the prosperity of values, humanity, nature, knowledge, skills, resources and of course money. Then we can have true development.

God has given everything to India. But do we have the ability to conduct and manage ourself ? Leaders of the nation, media and every citizen must rise above their selfish interest.

On this Independence day, think - Are we doing justice to our nation ?

Let there be a system

Nation is sitting blind on problems.

How can a nation grow without an effective working system ? A haphazard, chaotic, undecided, senseless approach can only grow disaster, not the comprehensive homogenous development needed badly by a nation.

It is impossible to run a small shop or even household affairs without proper system in place. If we want nation to be peaceful and develop at rapid pace we need an effective system. Some may say that we have constitution. True, we have but that too needs to be rewritten to keep pace with growing times and growing world. And, in addition, we need to work sincerely on components of the system.

Components of the system

If we seriously wish nation to be free from anarchy and progress, we must immediately work on strengthening the system. The problems faced by nation are huge. Piecemeal approach  or status quo or erratic steps are sure shots to disaster.

Constitution - It is must to have constitution that is in tune with changing times and world. A dynamic nation needs a dynamic constitution. 

National Policies -  It is necessary to have consistent and well laid national policies. These should be based on long term national interest. They should infuse confidence and clear confusion in the mind of citizens and the world.

Commissions - The various components of the system must be made independent commissions like Election Commission to work efficiently and effectively. They should have autonomy and freedom to function. Some of them are:

Law Commission

Police Commission

Civic Commission

Information Commission

Media Commission

Health Commission

Education Commission

Environment Commission

Some of the existing commissions like Election Commission and Women's Commission must be made more effective.

Information Commission
Information Commission must be enhanced to become the single authentic source of every information. It should have complete information about both government and citizens. This will improve transparency and accountability in nation.

Media Commission
Media Commission must ensure fair and vibrant media. Media must remain decent and promote overall personality of citizens along with clean entertainment and thought stimulating information. Media is important link in society. It should remain free from bias and allegations of paid service. Promotion of superstition and sensationalism must be a strict no.

Federations - People's Federations in different fields must be developed to help people raise issues and get solutions in a peaceful manner. These must work as cooperative link between people and government.


India has huge potential. But it suffers from lack of effective system. It is time nation develops effective system to meet the challenges and aspirations. Let the system grow and work.

National Policy

Why conflicts and agitation are becoming a norm in India ? Can't we find sensible solutions in national interest through peaceful manner ?

Almost every issue reaches a state of conflict be it religion, region, language, caste, gender, economy, education, culture. Is this how a nation conducts itself ? This is sad and shameful. A nation which was known for tolerance and wisdom is behaving in this manner. But why ?

Reason is lack of national policy. India is a nation of diversity. Every one in India has own thinking pattern and wish to do things in own way. This is sure path to anarchy and chaos. It is must to have well laid national policy for every issue. These policies must be drafted after consensus among public and experts.

These national policies can then lay path of core of consistent national development. These must remain consistent even with change of government. This will help in eliminating confusion from people's mind. Everyone can then contribute in development without any insecurity or feeling of unfairness.

A nation without well developed national policies is like rudderless ship which has no direction no goal.

What are the essential elements of good governance?

This is especially vital in a country like India with such diversity and such huge problems.



Ten Commandments of Good Governance

1. Holistic vision of present situation and future needs
Have good assessment of present situation. What are the problems, what are the strengths and weaknesses, what are the available resources, what are the needs etc. Also has good vision of what can be the need of future. How the nation will grow and integrate well with world.

2. Wise planning and policies
Planning and policies must be according to holistic assessment of present and future. These should not prove bad ten or twenty years later. These must have correct priorities and must take into account short, mid and long term needs.Care should be taken not to burden the over burdened especially the lower most in ladder.

3. Strengthen system
Nothing can run without a system. Do not do anything to harm the system. Strengthen it. This includes structural organization and functioning. There should be new laws, update of old laws and proper  implementation of laws.

4. Cut wastage and corruption
No growth can occur if there is wastage and corruption is the single most important factor that damages the system. Eliminate corruption and reduce wastage to best extent possible.

5. Uplift weak and poor
No growth matters if weak and poor do not benefit from it and lifted to higher levels. They must get priority attention. Society must become homogenous in various aspects of development.

6. Take everyone along
Fragmented growth is not possible. It is crucial that everyone is participant of growth and get due attention and benefit.

7. Walk the talk
Do not promise something that can not be fulfilled. Once promised, make it happen. No excuses, no false presentation to cover up.

8. Remain connected with people and ground reality
Everything is 'of the people for the people by the people' so never lose connect with people and ground reality. What people think is more important than what you think.

9. Never hide or justify mistakes and wrongs
Few mistakes and wrongs can be there. Never hide, cover up or justify. Once people lose faith everything will finish.

10. Inspire, not impose
Enhance positivity and affirmative action by inspiring people. You can never impose. People will get angry and will work against.


Any government fulfilling these will remain dear and will bring true welfare.

Honesty for every citizen

Nation has recently seen an uprising against corruption. Rightly so. Everyone demands strict action against corrupt politicians.

To initiate the process the new government has taken two crucial steps:
- SIT to investigate black money sent abroad illegally
- Prime Minister's initiative to make constitutional houses corruption free

Is it only the politicians who are corrupt? What about everyone else?

The time has come for every citizen of India to raise their level of honesty and commitment towards nation. They too must be under better scrutiny to check corruption at all levels. Just as in cancer, if a small part of it is left it will rise again and more dangerous.

There is a need to have:
- A social security number with complete history of social, financial and legal background of person.
- Every citizen must declare assets and other information through affidavit once every five years.
- There must be a database of all citizens with this information

It is time for citizens must talk about own honesty.

Get united in nation building

India faces huge task and challenges

Every one is aware about the magnitude of task. We all talk so big about how we should work for nation but unfortunately we do not change our attitude.

It is only few days a new government has assumed office and there has already started blame game and name calling. This is not how a nation is built. It requires collective effort. And more important it requires a positive attitude from everyone. Any government needs time to settle, put policies in place and set work going. How can anyone fix problems in days? It is not fair to indulge in criticism even before start of work. Let the government work. Everyone must work hard and support the government.

Do not let party politics spoil the atmosphere. Do not let negativity to take upper hand. We must get out of habit of pulling down others.

A government does not belong to a party, it belongs to entire nation. And the government must not do anything for party ideology, it must work on national ideology.

For Government

Stay away from arrogance, big talk, being defensive on mistakes, tokenism and other non productive activities. Get completely focused on work and talk straight to people of India. People have put their entire faith and high hopes. Do not let them down. Do not surrender to mediocrity or become pliable. Remain firm and work at good pace.

For Opposition

It is not quantity but quality that matters. Stay away from prejudiced opposition. Let the government work, guide them where required, oppose them where required but do not obstruct them. You will not be obstructing government but you will be seen as obstructing nation. If something wrong happens, make people aware about it.

For Citizens

This is not a government of a particular party, this is government of nation. Government alone can not make nation or fulfill aspirations of people. Everyone has to play his or her role effectively. Get united, get passionate about India and work hard. Do not just crib or agitate. Work and work. Nations are built by people's commitment towards nation.

Nation warned. Task is huge. There can be no place for lethargy or conflicts. Do not do anything to pull down nation building effort.

Be a part of nation building - positively and unitedly.

Disasters must be avoided

Why disasters are allowed to happen? These are in almost all cases due to negligence. It is possible to avoid most of them.

Following must be done immediately to avoid further such disasters:

- There must be a protocol of all occurrences. This must include well defined procedures of do's and don'ts.
- All dangers must be pre-conceived by specialists. Proper warnings and guards must be in place.
- Why in this age of technology it is required to activate hooter manually? All such warnings like hooters, red light blinkers must get activated automatically through computerized system.
- There must be immediate rescue operation. All districts must have disasters management teams with helicopters to reach site in minutes. Search operation must continue during night under floodlights.
- There must be well laid disaster action plan.
- Politicians must avoid visiting disaster site but those in command must supervise the entire operation through tele conferencing. This will avoid undue distraction of attention and effort.
- Disaster management of various countries must be researched and used in creating a good disaster avoidance and management system.

Every life is precious. Death due to negligence is sad and shameful.

What should be the mantra for new government ??

Welfare

What is right what is wrong, there can be individual or party opinion. All policies, all actions and everything in the system must move for welfare of the citizens of India. Nation's development must be judged by one and only one index:

Nation can wait to become a super power. Even high class development can wait. But few things need immediate attention.

- Food, water and shelter for all
- Affordable healthcare and education for all
- Security and Justice for all

These three must form topmost priority of every government. Everything else like corruption elimination, economic policies, national schemes etc must keep these three as core focus. It is shameful for any nation to have more than half the population under severe poverty and people suffering due to homelessness, hunger, thirst, sickness, crimes etc.

Such a state can be achieved only if nation succeeds in following
- Elimination of corruption, losses and wastage
- Freedom from debt and deficit
- Homogenous growth of citizens and development of nation
- Simplify taxes for better compliance
