India SOS

One most unfortunate aspect of Indian society is that victims due to any reason find themselves alone. They may be victims of accidents, crimes, discrimination, harassment, corruption or any other social evil. They suffer all alone and in most cases do not get help or justice. Think about the example of rape victim or accident victim lying on road without help. Even after that they suffer in hospitals, police stations, courts fighting their battle all alone. This is not the society anyone wants to live in.

What is the cause of this apathy? Some cited causes are:

- Fear of police
- Fear of legal problem
- Lack of time


What can be done about this. How can we help each other and create a better functional society.There is one simple solution to this which can save human lives, reduce crimes and create a healthy society.

India SOS

India must create India SOS a voluntary organization at the national level with volunteers from every city, every locality, every office, every organization. And this is how it will work.

- Citizens must be encouraged to enroll to contribute any amount of time and money. Volunteers can change guard with others as per need.
- GPS and internet technology must be used to trace nearby volunteers by sending them SOS.
- Legal experts must be enrolled to provide legal assistance like filing FIR, medical help, pursuing matter with police and in courts.

No victim should suffer alone in future, let India fight for Indians.

There is no short cut to orderly society

India is going through a difficult time. People are angry and frustration levels are high. The chaos around is dangerous for the society. It should not reach a state when people start taking law in their own hand.

Unfortunately people of India are not helping the nation either in definite way. There are demonstrations or heated debates. But where is the system, the action plan and the systematic effort?

There can not be piecemeal improvement. There must an effective system which should be put in place. Until and unless people of India get organized and act in united constructive goal oriented manner, nothing will improve.

The spirit is right, the methodology isn't. There can never be a short cut to orderly society.

Action ! Action ! Action ! Purposeful Result oriented Action.

Develop high quality citizens

What helps a nation to rise to the status of a Great Nation? It is not money or military power. It is the people of the country who together makes a Great Nation. But alas! What do we see today? India has huge population but citizens are missing. There are men and women but humans are missing. A Great Nation is made by people who possess nationalism, integrity, wisdom, courage, industriousness along with some common sense. And this is where India suffers. The result - chaos, corruption, crimes. And who is responsible. It is the people of India who have downfallen in spirit and essence. People today have become money hoarding pleasure seeking mindless creatures completely devoid of human qualities and spirits.

India is blessed to have a very rich and glorified history and culture. We taught wisdom and quality of life to the entire world. But all that was put to naught by hundreds of years of Mughal and British foreign rule. All those years affected the psyche of the people of India. The intellectual capacities and human value system nose dived. Qualities of humanity that are essential for being a great nation started to recede. What is the quality of human beings today? This is now reflected in rising crimes, fragmented society, corruption, filthy conditions, one upmanship, attitude of keeping self above nation and shortcut to success etc. Cheapness is getting more and more prominent be it day to day life or media. Intolerance of tolerable and tolerance of intolerable is today's characteristic feature.

One should not forget that the kind of personal and social attributes we create does not stop there. It affects and disorders psyche. This becomes a vicious cycle. The disordered psyche not only vitiates society but also passes from one to another in many forms - as learned behavior, as short cut to self motive, as role model and slowly settle down as new 'norms' of society. This even has the potential of passing from one generation to other through genes. The resultant collected psyche forms the character of the nation.

Since independence not much has been done to uplift the human value system. India is growing richer but richness without strong foundation of human development is no development. Rich in money with poor mindsets are dangerous for any nation. To be a great nation there is immediate need to work on Humanity Quotient of the nation:

Let us look at the following aspects making the foundation of a great nation carefully:

- Self discipline
- Social norms
- Work culture
- Civic sense
- Spirit of nationalism
- Holistic development of individuals and society

It is the quality of human beings that makes a great nation. If we are serious about making a great nation with great souls great hearts and great minds, we should focus on the trio of Human Quality and work on:

- Spiritual quality
- Intellectual quality
- Emotional quality

Just like high quality parts are required to create a good machine. Only citizens with high quality can create a great nation. This is where a country needs to invest and focus. Create high quality human beings. Create better genes and better gene pool.  This is the real wealth of a nation. This is what will make Quality of India Rich or Poor.
