Zero tolerance

Do we really want India to become No 1 nation in the world?  If yes then first thing to do is to say a complete NO to those things which are dividing our nation or destroying the basic dignified existence of its citizens.

Adopt ZERO TOLERANCE to :

1.       Communalism
2.       Regionalism
3.       Terrorism
4.       Casteism & Untouchability
5.       Corruption
6.       Crime against children, women and elderly
7.       Breach in Right to live

Justice Verma Commission has made some very good recommendations to prevent crime against women. If implemented correctly, they will go a long way in ensuring safer society for women. Similarly it is appealed that all these spheres given above must be immediately looked into by similar commissions and necessary corrective steps must be taken in time bound manner.

No one should be allowed even to say anything which directly or indirectly supports these. There must be fast track courts to decide cases in these matters in time bound manner. Every statement, every speech, every action must be accounted for. We should not allow a minutest breach in the foundation of the country. Because one breach can enlarge to engulf the nation.

Every citizen of India is its soldier. And the soldiers must always be watchful. So be alert, let no one do any damage to our country.

Be alert India !

Uthasthi Bharatha - Wake Up India

What shameless existence.

India suffers from enormous deficiencies - poverty, illiteracy, corruption, crimes, communalism, regionalism, dirty living conditions and so on. But strange that the people of India are patting on their own back, clapping for themselves and singing songs in own praise. Delusion is getting bigger and bigger.

Why this?   We compare with anarchic states and feel good. We cite small development here & there and get excited. We make excuses of short age of independence and get satisfied. When nothing works, say 'Oh yes there are some problems and we are working good on them' and feel even more satisfied. But what is the meaning of this satisfaction when major section of population is deprived of basic necessities of life, crime rate is rising, social harmony is low, people are shifting towards a meaningless useless life filled with self centered greed, lust & no integrity, family system is crumbling and spirituality has become business. Infact this satisfaction is the root cause of all problems. We have conditioned our self to live in filthy conditions - filthy conditions spiritual mental emotional physical social all of them. Human development is in regression. Wisdom is obsolete, common sense is extinct, courage is alien and integrity is impossible. And we are satisfied.

Unimaginable  that this is the land where once lived great souls like Chanakya, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose, Homi Jahangir Bhabha, Ramanujam, J C Bose, C V Raman, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Guru Nanak, Guru Gobind Singh, Shivaji, Vivekananda, Bhagat Singh, Laxmibai, B R Ambedkar and many more. What is the use of having history of oldest & greatest civilization. What is the point in being BORN in India.

Ironic that people today show that they are so angry against gang-rapes, corruption. But who is responsible. It is us, the people of India. Stop blaming politicians. It is our country and we have created the conditions we live in today. We are responsible for corruption, for rapes, for poverty, for illiteracy, for communalism, for filthy conditions everything. We are living but we are not alive.

It is time to be alive, awake and arise. Uthasthi Bharatha.

Deserve to be called a CITIZEN of India.
Be accountable.
Have love and passion for India.
Shed differences.
Develop and give your best to life.
Give up lethargy.
Contribute towards true development of India.
Be responsible.
Develop self respect, integrity, wisdom and courage.
Be True Indian.

Clean and orderly India - A big deal ?

Clean, tidy and orderly India.

It is time to be ashamed. Why this is still eluding us? Ask anyone and the answer would be that yes we want a clean and tidy India. But the real picture is different. Cities or villages - looks are ugly. Let us accept the fact and we should not deny or make excuses. A lot of work is required to be done.

1.       Responsibility – First thing first. Why it is so difficult to have the civic sense along with community sense. Cleanliness is the attitude. We should have the mindset of cleanliness and orderliness. Let us not crib about poverty, population or blame government for it. Country belongs to us. If we love our country, we will keep it clean. We have to take responsibility of our neighborhood, localities, villages, cities, states and country. We own the place and responsibility of keeping our place clean is ours. Get committed not to litter or do anything to make surroundings dirty. And also make sure that others around you are not doing so. A complete no to spit / urinate / defecate in open places.

2.       Priority – Cleanliness has still not got the priority it deserves. Until and unless we actively think about it and keep it top on priority, it will not occur. We are too casual about it. And this has nothing to do with rich / poor, educated / uneducated.

3.       Think about environment – It not only looks bad, it is bad for environment and health. Environment pollution including air water and noise pollution and diseases like dengue, malaria, chikungunya, hepatitis etc are significantly related to our attitude of cleanliness & orderliness.

4.       Infrastructure – Some steps that are necessary on priority basis are

     -     environment friendly waste disposal
     -     easy accessibility to public toilets & wastebins
     -     proper drainage system
     -     sensible construction

We cannot be casual anymore. It is time to own responsibility and act.

Be clean now, India.

Get some self respect and dignity

There is so much for the people of India to be proud of. It has ancient civilization, rich culture, spiritual wisdom, unique diversity of people religion & language, beautiful places, geographical completeness, rich natural resources, brilliant minds and so on. But it is shameful that inspite of such positives, the people of India have not achieved the internal and external status that they should have. This has nothing to do with economy or wealth of country or individuals, the main element that we need to improve is self respect and dignity. The country and the people are unfortunately suffering from impotency of conduct.

This self respect and dignity is reflected in the way we think, feel, speak and act. We should never forget that every citizen is a unit of the country be it common man on street, homemakers, students, politicians, bureaucrats, police, defense personals, lawyers & judges, journalists, social workers, doctors, business persons, shopkeepers, artists, teachers, etc. The way we maintain self respect & dignity and conduct our self leads to status of individuals and country as a whole. Today this is lacking. The kind of conduct we see everyday from people of all walks of life and even institutions is childish, chaotic and abhorable. Either we see hyper arrogant words and acts putting down fellow citizens, mindless or narrow minded selfish deeds or we see lack of appropriate behavior. These both, act of commission and act of omission leads to loss of self respect and dignity. This can not be termed as making of a great country.

Why this has happened. The reasons are many :
1.      We lack sense of responsibility towards society and country.
2.      We lack self discipline.
3.      We lack vision and mission as individuals and as country.
4.      We tolerate intolerable and react stupidly to tolerable.
5.      We do not realize our potential.
6.      We easily become power & position arrogant.
7.      We do not realize that small wrongs done get multiplied and destroy society & country.

No country is good or great due to its economy or wealth. It is the human wealth which makes a country great. If we do not have self respect & dignity expressed in terms of wisdom, courage, integrity and disciplined purposeful behavior, we can not be termed as good citizens of India. We all need to shed slave mentality & create self worth through self respect & dignity to make modern glorified India.

Sleep no further. Rise high and be No 1.

Let wisdom prevail

There is a surge of voices now talking against vulgarity in songs, movies and media. But this is not new. Media is full of vulgarity. Be it print media, radio, movies, internet or TV.

Society has a role to play.

Unfortunately there are two extremes. On one extreme are some people who will question everything, how girls should dress, they should go out to disco or not, they should use lipstick or not, people should celebrate valentine's day or not. For them the culture is too fragile and will get destroyed by mini skirts. According to them the entire onus of women's safety is on women and accordingly boys or men are helpless victims of girl's inciting lifestyle. This is like complete autocracy by society.

There is other extreme too. This says all is fair in love, war and money. For them there is nothing called vulgarity and obscenity. Sex is on sale, let the buyer decide what to buy and how much. Let everything be available and people will decide what is good or bad. This is like complete Laissez - Faire by society.

Extremes can never result in healthy society. Wisdom must prevail. Ours is a democratic system which is the best. In this society has freedom to live. It is nobody's business to tell others how to live. But along with that there must be a sense of responsibility. Those in media business should understand the difference between art and vulgarity. And people have the responsibility that they give success to what - art or vulgarity. Society will become what people invest in it. Minds can be polluted. Let us look at our own responsibility of making a healthy society. But this has to be united and continuous effort. And more than preaching, this has to be self discipline.

Let wisdom prevail !!!

2013 Year dedicated to her and women's safety

2013 is dedicated to her and women's safety. 2013 is the year of change. India has entered into 2013 with a different frame of mind. People of India today stand united in this moment of tragedy and have resolved to improve the situation. This is very encouraging and this is the only way a country can improve upon itself.

And for that to happen the people's movement should have following elements:
- Remain alive
- Remain peaceful
- Remain united
- Remain constructive
- Remain methodical
- Remain result oriented

This is the first step. People of India need to ensure that the grief and anguish in our heart should get transformed into real work. Next step would be setting up a Federation for Women formed by online / mobile poll. This Federation would gather suggestions from everyone and would shortlist effective suggestions. This Federation then would work in close coordination with Justice Verma Commission and other Government Institutions to make sure that the suggestion are actually implemented in shortest possible time. Media channels can take initiative in setting up such Federation by setting up nominations for the Federation and invite online / mobile polling.

Let the process begin and proceed in right direction.
